Naima joined Leap Confronting Conflict in December 2015. She moved to London from New York where she worked as an investigator for a pro-bono public defence law firm in the Bronx. She has a B.A. in International Development from Yale University, and has worked with young people involved in the criminal justice system since 2010.
Along with her passion for prison reform and social justice, Naima is a strong feminist and advocate of young people’s right to reach their potential. She takes a leading role in developing Leap’s work with young women, and leads on Power Up! – a project working with young women affected by gangs in the London borough of Lambeth.
Naima is also the host and producer of the podcast ‘Third Culture’, which explores the heritage and stories of people with mixed identities
