Jessica Taplin is CEO of Vinspired. Jessica joined Vinspired from Get Connected, the UK telephone helpline for under 25s, where she oversaw a 27% increase in the number of young people supported, reaching 228,000 last year. She had a strong focus on developing innovative programmes, including the Nesta and Cabinet Office funded Digital Connectors project, which provides support to young people via web chats and has increased volunteer numbers by 30%, and a Department for Education funded crisis counselling phone service.
Jessica was previously Head of Partnerships and Public Engagement at Big Lottery, with responsibility for developing the strategic objectives and leading the implementation of the Partnerships & Public Engagement strand of its UK Portfolio. This included the delivery of several large scale youth engagement projects, such as the Big Music Project, which, working with the Brit Awards, Capital FM and UK Youth, aimed to give 4.5 million young people experience of the music industry. She also led a collaboration with Channel 4 and Secret Millionaire to create the six-part Secret Millions series, and partnered with the BBC to launch Village SOS, which highlighted the importance of social action and community enterprise across the country.
