Elin Franklin

Elin has an extensive background in participation, ranging from projects influencing the commissioning of local children and young people’s services, to EPIC, the national advisory group to the Department for Education on the special educational needs and disability reforms.  Elin is a passionate campaigner for participation opportunities for disabled young people, she says they must have a place “where they can express themselves mentally and physically while also trying to get their voices heard in the local community.”

Elin has also engaged in international participation opportunities; she was a member of the 2014 Mobility International USA exchange programme, exploring disabled people’s empowerment and leadership through a human rights framework.

Elin hails from Manchester although she currently lives a little further south whilst studying at Kent University.
